A Full Kitchen Remodel
A full kitchen remodel for a busy couple and their two young daughters who love to entertain and bake together. Reconfiguring the space to make better use of a previously unused dining area, adding innovative solutions to help encourage the daughters' participation, and adding a skylight help the usability of the space.
Scope:
Redesigned entire kitchen for full-gut remodel. Space to consider varying height differences of homeowners, multiple bakers, recycling center, and floor plan that encourages interaction with others.
Created floor plan around existing permanent structures, compiled Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment list, and completed construction documents using National Kitchen and Bath (NKBA) standards.

Design Concept:
With an active and social family, the Lettie kitchen will need to accommodate many people for cooking and entertaining. Their kitchen will incorporate a lower-height baking center for rolling pastry crusts and doughs, pull-out toe-kick steps for the children, plenty of counter space for creating and clean-up, and island space for entertaining and serving guests. The open-concept kitchen will allow Renee to be involved in the activities surrounding her. Adding a skylight, removing walls, and using modern, high-gloss cabinets will help spread light around the space.
